This year, the American Legion marked the nintey-ninth anniversary of its founding, with celebrations across the country, including here at San Dieguito Post 416. The evening began with Rolf Ohnstad's reading of "The American Legion 99th Birthday 2018" , a commemerative speech prepared by National Headquarters. (Full text of the speech can be read here.)

Legion Birthday Cake Following a brief group photo session, was the ceremonial cutting of the Birthday cake, performed by the two Legionaires with the most and fewest years of Legion membership, in attendance - John Tyler with 64 years of membership, and Scott Marquette, who joined last month.
